From Gordon:
We departed the staging area at approximately 9:30 after Jason came through with his group heading to Big Valley Bluff. Tom led the 35 and larger tire group up to black mountain while Gary took the smaller tires up Monumental Creek all the way to the top.
The big tire group parked in a large open area and either played in the snow or tried climbing the hill. I would say half of the participants attempted the hill with 5 of them getting to the midway lookout point.
Jim C and I headed back down to see if we could break the trail to Twin lakes. The road had a lot of snow on it with many dips dropping us down a good 4 feet into a hole only having to climb back up the other side. This went on for a while. Very similar to what we ran into a few years ago on Sailor Point. It was a blast.
Jim C headed back down the hill with most of the group while Tom and I stayed and played on the hill with 5 rigs for a little longer. The big tire group did not have any issues, breakdowns or rig damage. As far as I know Gary also had a successful run without issues.
Overall it was a great day.
