From Frosty:

We had a light rain going up Hwy 49.  Looking back down the Yuba canyon the line of rigs was an awesome sight.  Going up Ridge road we started noticing snow along the side of the road. Further up Ridge road the road had been plowed.  From there, we turned up Henness Pass road. The snow plow stacked snow at the entry, and left a zig zag for us to enter into.  We aired down and spilt into our two groups. Group 1 went up Henness Pass road. Group 2 went to Forest City to break the trail.

Group 2 (Forest City) had a hard time getting through with lots of snow, and lots of strapping and pulling going up the hill.  Sounded tough.

Group 1 (Henness Pass) had two prospective members with us. Scott and Merly R,  and Joe T.  The snow started to get deeper, to about 20 inches, the higher we went.  The differentials where digging into the snow.  Guest, Eric V, broke trail with his Toyota 4Runner and did a great job.  He enjoyed himself so much so that he wants to join the club. We made it up about 4 miles to a downed tree that we set out to try and cut off the road, but snow was too deep. We turned around and stopped at the corrals to eat lunch.  Some of us ( Eric, Ron and Pam, Mike, and myself) went down the hill to meet Group 2 (it is easier to bust snow going down hill). We found Group 2 and tugged them up the hill which turned out not to be too far; they had almost made it through.  After Group 2 and Group 1 met up, those who hadn't eaten lunch earlier ate then. After lunch we headed down the hill to Ridge road to air back up.  We where all off the trail by 2:30.

Aside - we checked the restroom at the baseball field and it was opened, but you need to bring your own toilet paper.

All in all, we all enjoyed getting out and playing in the snow.  Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
