From Frosty:
We met at 9 o’clock and proceeded to go up to Henness pass. Where we usually air down by the dump didn’t have much snow, and we were very surprised to find the road had been snow plowed. There we met a lumber truck coming down with a full load of timber. As we got by Galloway Road, there was a full-on timber harvest, with quite a few lumber trucks. We encountered the snow, and started breaking trail from there. The idea was to head up the hill to Keystone on 98 and we found the snow to be very soft; if you spun the wheels you were getting buried. We had to work at it all day. We also had to move quite a few trees out of the roadway leading to some cutting. As we proceeded up, around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, the snow kept getting deeper. Ultimately, we came up short of hitting road 98. We stopped about 2 miles to the junction. Eric and Tom were both on 40 inch tires, and they made a big enough area to turn around in. We ate lunch, then headed down the hill, and were off the trail by 4 o’clock.
