Thank you to all who attended the day run up to Mossy Pond!
We met at 9 am at the Chevron at the Cisco Grove exit and enjoyed some coffee and doughnuts while waiting for everyone to arrive. We ended up with 9 rigs, all Jeeps. We aired down and headed out for the trail. Road conditions were better than usual, looked like a lot of road work happened in preparation for the work on Fordyce dam. When we hit the trail, we ran into some mud and patches of snow (neat to see this early). We all wondered if this run could be considered a snow run LOL! The trail was fun, narrow and brushy in some spots, and definitely could use some trail maintenance. It was an easy run so no one had any issues (even Ron). J Once we got to the lake, we had lunch and Emma (who is 4) was our entertainment. She told us stories and made us laugh! We relaxed for a bit in the sunshine and after lunch blazed a trail to a granite knoll to view the backside of Fordyce Lake. We were hoping to catch a glimpse of the town of Fordyce that was flooded when the dam went in, unfortunately the water was still too high. It was a nice hike and the views were endless. We couldn't have picked a better day in terms of weather, it was sunny and warm!
Thanks again everyone, it was a fun day!
