From Gil:
We met at Wendy’s and departed a few minutes after 9AM with thirteen rigs. Headed up HW49 past North San Juan where we picked up Ron and Pat. Turned east on Ridge Road and continued to Mountain House Road where we staged, aired down, and added Reg to the run. We now had fifteen rigs and 24 members on the run. A small group of mostly Toyota’s came up behind us… I chatted with them and found that one them (Casey) was the son of a familiar past club member, Will B. Headed up Ridge and found the snow to be forgiving with just a little tugging… until we reached Henness Pass Road where the snow became deep and unforgiving. It reminded me of the 405 going through the Sepulveda Pass on a Friday night. Jeeps were everywhere… some stuck, some still challenging the snow. We had lunch and headed back… we turned on Hells Half Acre towards Alleghany and drove through the town. Ron took over as leader and took us through Forest on Mountain House Road. When we reached Henness Pass… Joe, Brian, Gary and one or two more left the group and headed east up Henness. The main group continued west on Henness Pass to Camptonville where we aired up and headed home.
It was a great day for snow wheeling… I want to thank everyone who joined us. It was particularly nice to have Steve and Kacy C wheeling with us today.
From Steve and Kacy:
This was one of the best snow runs we have had the pleasure of attending. Thank you for organizing the run, it was GREAT!
