It was gorgeous day to be out in the forest and mountains. The wander started at 08:00 and proceeded up Ridge Rd where we explored a couple wrinkles off Henness Pass RD. The view from Keystone is fantastic. Especially looking at the Sierra Buttes. Jim had identified the Hilda Mine off of a loop that Martin wanted to explore. Unfortunately, brush was closing in on the road and in the interest of saving paint we abandoned going to Hilda Mine. However, we did walk to the intersection of the Hilda Mine road. With a little work, brushing, it would be drivable and paint savable.
From there we cruised past Milton Reservoir, Jackson Meadows Reservoir, and Bowman Lake, and finally through Malakoff Diggins and over the South Yuba River. A good full day of wandering!
