From Martin:

The run up Foresthill Divide was relaxed and uneventful. We did have a late start waiting for one of the participants. However, she communicated the problem and the group agreed to wait. We stopped at Robinson Flat and inspected the old ranger buildings, Lost Emigrant Mine we walked to the site of the mine where there are the remains of the hoist and some track. Last tour stop was Wabena Point (Cedar Point) to look at petroglyphs. We could not find the smaller panel and it may have disappeared. The day was not as long as I had thought it might be.

From Martin (Pre-run description of the run):

While at Big Valley Bluff (9/1/2024) some members looked across the valley at the Foresthill Divide and wondered what is there.  I have Sunday free and want to see if anyone is interested in a run along the Foresthill Divide all the way to Soda Springs.  It makes for a pretty long day and we might be airing up as it gets dark.  This is an easy fire road kind of trip.

Rough Itinerary:

1. 0830 meet and leave from Auburn
2. Robinson Flat – air down.  Depending on timing might consider Duncan Peak Lookout side trip.
3. Continue to American Mine site for lunch.
4. Continue to Palisades Creek Trailhead and short walk to petroglyphs overlooking the North Fork of the American River and Snow Mountain.
5. Continue through the Cedars to Serene Lakes and air up.
