From Gary:

Tuesday

Jim H led us near Lake Tamarack above Twin Lakes. After lunch we continued on to Dunderberg Meadows. Took a spur through a grove of Aspen trees to  an overlook of the Bridgeport area. From there we continued on to Virginia Lakes and back to Lake Topaz. Weather was great and there were lots of fall colors. During the run Jeff heard a rumbling sound while in 4WD. Reggie determined it was the CV joint in the front driveshaft. Jeff was unable to repair the vehicle while in Lake Topaz.

Wednesday

Spent the day in Hope Valley. Made it to Alpine Mine, Crater Lake and Forestdale Divide. Another beautiful day with fall colors.

Thursday

Headed out to Mt Patterson. I tried an alternate route to Lobdell Lake that was a bust and we had to backtrack. It was good that we did otherwise we would have bypassed a large grove of Aspen Trees. The trail was in good shape going up. Once on top the view was great but the wind was blowing around 50mph. Continued on to the Belfort mine site then a rocky drive to Sweetwater Ranch. Other than the wind on top, another great weather day with fall colors.

Friday

Jim, Leslie, Debbie and I  headed out to Mill Canyon Road south of Lake Topaz. We explored each of three spurs till the end. Found an overlook of Walker River Canyon, camping site next to a flowing creek and a very dense grove of young Aspen trees.
