From Martin:
Meet Saturday at the Park and Ride at Hwy 20 and Rough and Ready Hwy (The northeast corner). This is not where we have met in the past. Be ready to leave the Park and Ride at 08:30. Then off to Williams to fuel up at the Love’s.
This run is a bit of driving on Forest Roads and any stock 4x4 shoud be fine. This would be a good opportunity for an overnighter if Schoolhouse is not done.
From Willows to Indian Valley Reservoir where we stop for lunch. Then on over Goat Mountain, down Long Slides and into the campground for the night. The campground has a vault toilet. No water other than the creek, so it is good to bring your own.
Some of us will head to Lake Pillsbury, over Hull Mountain, fuel in Covelo and then head a bit before heading back to smaller roads for a loop to the north – new country to explore. We will choose a camp area when it is time. There are a number of campgrounds shown on the map in the area.
Brian will lead those that are weekend only folks out toward Stonyford or Elk Creek, however he see fit. . . perhaps:
Sunday we climb back up the ridge, Passing Lower Nye and Crockett camps, then down the east side and out to pavement for the ride home.
