For Run, meet at USFS Parking lot, Camptonville (Marysville Road at Hwy 49) at 9AM.
There will be a campfire Saturday night at the Schoolhouse Campground. Jim C will cook burgers and dogs. Let him know if you are attending so he has a proper headcount. Everyone else, treat this like a potluck and provide a side, if possible.
Martin is organizing. Please contact him for additional information or to let him know you are interested.
From Martin:
We will meet at the park and ride in Penn Valley (08:30), or you can meet (0930-1000) at the Love’s (Truck Stop) in Williams, CA (On Hwy 20 just before the I-5 interchange). Offramp (actually a left turn off 20) is Marguerite St.
We will have lunch at the Indian Valley Reservoir, which I understand is full this year! After lunch, we'll climb a ridge to the North and go over Goat Mountain, then descend via Long Slides road to Bear Creek. Camp at Bear Creek. Sunday will be a full day to get out and back home
This trip does have lots of driving. If we get sidetracked some vehicles could get fuel challenged, though usually the normal vehicle tanks are sufficient.
stay tuned for more...
